1. Social Worker

… in order to strengthening its socio-legal guidance team.

Are you a social worker who is either a pensioner, an early retiree, or an experienced social worker who is not currently employed?
Are you interested in volunteering your free time (i.e. at least half a day a week) to help people in distress and great difficulty? Read on!

As you can read on our Web site, our NGO aims at fighting poverty and exclusion by helping people overcome their difficulties, (re)integrate in society, and become as independent as possible in order to enjoy their life to the fullest.
How? Having volunteers accompany our beneficiaries carry out the steps to improve their situation, including paperwork, as well as providing them with support in the field.

A few examples: asking for social welfare from the CPAS (Public Centre for Social Action), visiting a house, asking the legal aid bureau for legal assistance, helping people access healthcare by bringing them to a hospital, going to a debt mediator, accompanying them to the Foreigners office or to a bank.

Your role will be to listen, analyse and provide our beneficiaries with the necessary steps to follow, as well as organising their support in the field by our volunteers. The ultimate aim is to help them regain independence, social integration and a better quality of life.

In addition to the qualities expected from a social worker, we also expect you to be computer-savvy with a good knowledge of software such as MS Word.

If you are interested in our project, join our socio-legal team and share your expertise with us!

Would you like to apply? Please send us a mail at with a short CV and a cover letter.

2. Accompanying Volunteer in the field

As you can read on our Web site, our NGO aims at fighting poverty and exclusion by helping people overcome their difficulties, (re)integrate in society, and become as independent as possible in order to enjoy their life to the fullest.

How? Once the beneficiary has been welcomed by the volunteers in our socio-legal team and the necessary steps that need to be followed have been determined with them, the beneficiaries have the option to be accompanied in the field by another volunteer. He or she supports them carry out the necessary steps, paperwork or other, in order to find a solution to their problem(s).

The accompanying volunteer provides moral support, which is extremely useful. This is because our beneficiaries feel alone with their problems, as well as vulnerable when confronted with the steps to follow.

To become an accompanying volunteer no previous experience is necessary.
Only the willingness to help, to be tolerant and have lots of patience. The predicament of our beneficiaries often requires time to be resolved, as well as a lot of paperwork. It is team work. Our motto is “Together, step by step”

We also offer our accompanying service to a hundred partners who do not provide such a service.

If you can help for at least half a day per week, join us!
