The non-profit organisation ” Les Amis d’Accompagner <\/a>” is a front-line service recognised by the COCOM as a CAP, Centre d’Aide aux Personnes. <\/p>\n\n

The reception and socio-legal guidance service is the first point of entry<\/a> for beneficiaries who come forward. Like the other two services of the non-profit organisation, this service is made up of a team of volunteers <\/a>supervised by professionals. <\/p>\n\n

People are warmly welcomed at the reception by a reception agent and\/or a volunteer. A smile, coffee and tea are offered to anyone crossing the threshold of the non-profit organisation. This welcome facilitates contact with the social worker by allowing the person to feel confident through very concrete gestures, by listening and by collecting general information. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

It is then the social workers, assisted by volunteer social workers, who in daily practice, listen, analyse the situations and guide people towards a solution to the problem posed by working in a network with institutions and associations. To do this, they offer them a map of the procedures, and if the people wish – or if necessary – field support by a volunteer. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

In addition to individual social action, Les Amis d’Accompagnement is setting up a collective and community action<\/a> in the Van Huffel district in Koekelberg.<\/p>\n\n

In the same way as other associations, the team of the reception and socio-legal orientation service submit requests for support via the online form<\/a> allowing the outpatient support service to look for the volunteer who will facilitate the follow-up of the file of the person in difficulty.<\/p>\n\n

The non-profit organisation “Les Amis d’Accompagner” supports the free social appeal project of the federation of social services of which they are members. The toll-free number \u2013 Social Assistance<\/a> 0800 35 243 is free and confidential, it is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Monday to Friday, on working days. It is aimed at Brussels residents who have questions or encounter social difficulties (food, housing, budget, administrative procedures, family situation, isolation, etc.). Social workers, including the Accompagnement social team, inform people about their social rights. <\/p>\n\n
